Edit 4: both have gyro controls.
Edit 5: Portal 2 coop can be split screen.
At £13.49 this package is the steal of the century, if you have even a passing interest don't pass this up.
I already own Portal one and 2 on steam but this has me considering getting it. Maybe if there is a sale sometime this year or a physical version gets announced I'll buy it.
I have them both as well but am definitely going to grab this too. I've been meaning to replay them both, and Portal 2 with friends who don't have it for PC will be fun.
Unfortunately not, no. There’s no Steam integration like the PS3 version had. Switch version is compatible only with Switch players.
A shame, it was one of the features I loved about the PS3 version back in the day. Hopefully Portal 2 gets it added in on the Switch.

It shouldn't be surprising but I tend to assume most ports to the switch will be 30fps, even if just for battery saving reasons.
Take Borderlands for example, 2 might be a stretch for 60 but 1 should be able to hit 60 easily and it's still locked at 30.
I mean, the Switch isn't really *that* much more powerful than the X360/PS3, especially in portable mode.
So getting double the framerate with the same core graphics and resolution(or better in docked) would indeed be pretty impressive.

Just as I was thinking this was out of my budget this week, I clocked in to work and saw I’d just gotten my quarterly points deposit, and it gave me exactly enough to get a $20 eShop card.

A Half-Life collection would be neat in the future. HL and its expansions as well as HL2 and its episodes. Put in Vortigaunt mode and Decay as well, why not.
The same company that ported this game to switch and the Nvidia shield also ported half life 2 and it’s episodes to the shield, so I’d imagine it’s doable, but maybe not at 60 fps (at least not for episode 2). I think if you install Android on a hacked switch you can play the half life ports

Still an amazing port obviously, i counted like 4 drops in the entire play through, but idk how that bodes for episode 2

Edit: Just worked my way through most of Portal 1. In an ecosystem where we are often conditioned to accept lackluster and barebones Switch ports, the ports of these two games are like an oasis in a desert.
The Portal: Companion Collection may be the single best Nintendo Switch port of all time outside of first party. This will be THE shining example of how to do a port of an older game to Nintendo Switch.
I will reiterate: if you have not played these games before, buy this package immediately.
You're in for a real treat! The first game is excellent as an introduction to the concept of the gameplay. The second is where everything gets phenomenal, particularly the writing. I won't say any more. I hope you enjoy it!

Amazing and £13 is a brilliant price. One of the best ever IMO. Gameplay is superb, the puzzles are brilliant and how the story unfolds is superb. Art direction and soundtrack are also top notch.

portal 1 if you play base game is about 2-4 hours long depending on how fast you can figure out the puzzles, portal 2 is alot longer
