Does this also happen when you try to just add Funds to your Steam Wallet?

Tekuni37

buy steam card

IndependentPast6958

Add funds to steam wallet. Worked for me when I was having payment issues.

RedditPua

Are you using Credit Card? Maybe your bank have stablished a maximum funds per transaction and it is blocking it. You may need to contact your bank if that is the case. Maybe you are able to add some funds to your Steam Balance in different transactions, but your bank could also block them if they see them as unusual movements.

ashleymoogle

No, I bought for more than $1k in plane tickets with that same card not that long ago so that can't be it.

HoldinWeight

Contact steam so you can get an extension until the matter is resolved or you have a running log of it happening at least. You said you bought 1k worth of plane tickets. Check with your financial institution. Some purchases of certain types can flag your account protection. Are you trying on the steam app or website?

ashleymoogle

No issue on my bank side, no payment ever went through, the error appear as soon as I click "next" after shipping address. And yes I tried both the webapp and the client. Edit: And I contacted support as soon as I got the error but they're not responding, it's been 2 days and it's a weekend so I don't have any hope

HoldinWeight

You do have hope. You have a logged issue with Steams payment system. Screenshot it. People have had their orders extended. You're being Woe-is-me about something people have had resolved in the past.

HoldinWeight

I'm saying because of the plane tickets. Check and see with your bank customer service if the payment has been attempted.

tpaxs

Is the shipping address you put in during the purchase process the same, as the credit card is registered to?

ashleymoogle

EDIT: sorry didnt understand your question. Yes it's the same

snoozybaloozie

Try something like privacy.com or call your bank and tell them you’re making a large purchase and to push it through, might be fraud prevention.

ashleymoogle

It's not a bank issue, it's on steam side.

snoozybaloozie

Try clearing cookies / cache or a different browser.

Matmanreturns

Probably not going to matter, but have you tried purchasing through both the website and app? Might work on one and not the other. Then again I’m talking out of my ass but maybe worth a shot?

ashleymoogle

Thanks for your input but yes I already tried both, same error.

Atomicjuicer

Try a different card in case your bank only blocked after two large purchases in the same month. Or try paypal

Jacob99200

Bottom line, there's a low chance anyone here can help Just wait for support

ashleymoogle

You never know, honestly I got restless waiting for the support to answer so might as well ask the community for advice.

jayr3m

There is a option to change store region or country in account settings. You can maybe switch it back to EU the time to buy it.

ashleymoogle

Nah store region is linked to payment method, I would have to put a EU payment method but then there is a cooldown to change region back

Jacob99200

Did you order the SD on the EU store with an EU account?

Glitchy_Gaming

Exit the transaction page and try again. Worked for me.

welshman1971

Large transactions will most likely be being blocked by your payment card / bank as a security method meant to protect you and your funds from someone attempting fradualent purchases using your money. Being able to buy a game which has a much smaller cost value won't be triggering the fraud protection If it is that causing the issue you could try PayPal or load your steam wallet with funds using smaller amounts perhaps. Edit , never mind I see you were in the EU when you placed your order and you are now in another country Unless valve can do something I doubt there is anything you can do to fix this as you reserved an EU device which can only be shipped to the EU Being in Canada now , there won't actually be a deck assigned to you from that queue

FamiliarPhilosopher3

Having an issue where the steam deck page is indefinitely loading on different devices and different internet connections. Can't view steam deck versions to reserve one. Anyone else with this issue or know the resolution?

SackyPacky

Did you fix it?

ashleymoogle

Yup contacted support and let it play out. Took 2 weeks but I was able to buy it

SackyPacky

I just sent them an email too, wondering when they’ll reply. They let you buy it even your time period expired?

ashleymoogle

Sure they had to send me 3 invites total before they made it work

potato_hut

Hi there, I happened to find your reddit post as I'm fighting the same exact issue right now. Were you able to change your region shipping to what you wanted? Or did you have to settle with shipping to an EU address? The first person to answer my ticket isn't helping me out at all. Any tips of what to say to them?

ashleymoogle

I played dumb about the EU/Canada thing, didn’t mention it at all. I was basically concerned I couldn’t pay for the thing is what I told them.

potato_hut

Hey, thanks so much for replying. This whole ordeal has been awful. :/ I'm on my last day of being able to place my order and no one in support has helped me yet. I actually realized that I'm locked out on making any purchases on steam it's so stupid. You said it took 2 weeks right? Were you able to get help after your purchase window?

LolfyBoy

I got this too contacted steam support and nothing still

Nix_Nivis

I'd guess you're SOL then. You waited in the wrong queue (EU). Maybe you could get them to ship it to an address in Europe, but no way they'll ship to Canada.

ashleymoogle

What's that about region queues? It was specified nowhere.

ChunkeeMunkee3001

I'm assuming that commenter got that info from a comment that you've since edited as I can't find any reference to an EU purchase here, but there are 3 main reservation queues for each tier of Deck - North America, UK, and EU. If you placed a reservation last year in the EU queue then you'll need to complete your order with an EU shipping address and (I presume) an EU-based payment method. From the content of that other comment, I'm guessing you now reside in Canada? Hopefully Valve support can work something out for you, but as different stock is allocated to each different geographical area I think you're limited to paying from an EU source and shipping to an EU address, then getting it forwarded from there.

Nix_Nivis

You are assuming correctly. OP had stated that they had been living in Europe last summer and were now living in Canada. So I assumed the order was placed in EU and was now supposed to be shipped to Canada.

dustojnikhummer

But he paid for the reservation, did he use a Canadian card?

ashleymoogle

That's right, last summer I was living in Europe and now I'm in Canada. I didn't know there was region queues :( I hope the support will be nice

ChunkeeMunkee3001

Keeping everything crossed for you, friend. Do you not have any contacts in the EU that you might be able to send the money to, and who could take the delivery and forward it for you?

ashleymoogle

Unfortunately that's not really practical or possible. Adding a EU payment method will change my store region and there is a cooldown to change region back to Canada after.

dustojnikhummer

Steam Gift Cards? Keep in mind EU Steam Store will only ship to Europe

ChunkeeMunkee3001

Hopefully support can work something out for you in that case!
