All news is breaking news these days. It’s really lost both its meaning and effect.
Downvoted even though that’s the original tweet. Thems the breaks.

Only one pre-season testing? Will there be another one at Barcelona?
Most likely just one, they only increased it to two tests this year due to the new rules.
>Will there be another one at Barcelona?
No, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an "unofficial shakedown" in Barcelona planned tho
OMG WHO COULD'VE SEEN THIS COMING????? UNBELIEVABLE TRULY ASTONISHING
Ah, I see the check has cleared.
No one ever said that for Barcelona...
Bahrain is actually a really balanced track, great for testing.
And it’s the first race so less unnecessary travel
And it like never snows.
Which makes it more predicable...
True, but Bahrain did pay for the privilege of hosting the “first” test of this year, and thus the beginning of the new era of F1.
That meant the *actual* first test of the year (in Barcelona, I think?) was officially referred to as a shakedown, and lacked live F1TV coverage. I’m still a bit miffed about that.
Same. We got dun dirty
No no no, if it's in the Middle East you must always insinuate that it's done for money and no other reason. The European tracks are always beyond reproach.
Tempted to go to this to get some winter sun.
My favorite track gets more testing
Awesome...I love to winter in Bahrain in late Feb! Been going with the fam for 25+ years!
I read a while ago that it’s a moderate ballache for the teams because it just subtracts from their deadlines. Barcelona, you can finish a bit of kit, hand it to someone and it’ll be there in 4 hours. Bahrain, no.
Anyway, I vaguely appreciate that F1 does literally what it wants - teams, staff, drivers and fans be damned. Money talks.
It's more that the teams can drive large items to Barcelona in about 24 hours, which is not possible at Bahrain.
Once you've commited to putting things on a plane to get to a track it's less of an issue because 3 hours to Barcelona vs 6 hours to Bahrain isn't a massive difference.
On the other side, having testing and the first race at the same track reduces the costs of freight for the teams by a small amount.
"Exciting" is a very strong word to use in this headline
By new years I'll be counting down to this day.
Is the last race that early?
Yes, because of the FIFA World Cup, they want to avoid overlap.
Well that's dumb.
Will it be broadcasted?
I think so, yeah. On F1TV and Sky only probably
The less I see of Montmelo, the happier I am
Could make the Spanish GP slightly more exciting if the teams don't have mountains of data from pre-season testing
never saw the purpose of testing in a circuit with gravel either. surely paul ricard and bahrain are straight up better choices.
They finally send the money
