My favorite thing of hers to come out since NFR (I absolutely love COTCC and BB don’t come for me besties). The trap beat gets me, the catchiness and playfullness of it all. I cannot wait to hear the rest of the album given the two singles have been so different
magnum opus, god tier, giving lifelong lana fans an incredible annual holiday (valentine’s day), reintroducing lana to those who left during ultraviolence
furthermore - i will never be able to dunk on antonoff the same way, he really shut me up with this one
1st listen i don't like it. It is a bit chaotic. All of a sudden, shimmy shimmy ko ko bop, Jimmy Jimmy ride keeps playing in my head. then i re listen and I love it. After 30 min she released this song, i tried google it. The lyrics say " Jimmy Jimmy coco puff". I'm like what the heck is Jimmy Coco Puff.
i was wondering if younger folx were going to get that reference... every girl i ever knew (maybe a couple of boys...) played that patty-cake game from K-8th grade constantly (80s - early 90s). before school during school after school on weekends, if two or more girls were together for more than five minutes they'd eventually play that game, with all kindsa different phrases, lyrics and rhymes - "jimmy jimmy..." was probably the most used tho
It did say "Shimmy, Shimmy, ko ko bop." on the spotify lyrics which is from musixmax. Although, the lyrics on genius says "cocao puff", which is confusiing to me too . I believe "ko ko bop" is the right one.
I thought the first part was ethereal and personal. And then the second part hit, which I absolutely did NOT expect. It’s sensual, dark, chaotic. I absolutely love the song and I genuinely believe it is one of her best tracks to date. She delivered.
the second parts give me major euphoria vibes (the show) and
her old lizzy and btd/paradise vibes.
the first part is a mix of the dreaminess of honeymoon, the
dark rock from ultraviolence and the whispering from chemtrails.
I'm glad that Lana decided to go on a more experimental path with her music after LFL, because it culminated with this masterpiece that will remain a memorable moment in pop culture. I knew I will like it based on the title, but I didn't expect to LOVE it, and find in it yet another Lana song I'll be addicted to. It has a lot of the stuff that I like - it's heavy on guitar strings (the acoustic guitar in Lana songs is esp close to my heart), old Americana aesthetics and explores darker themes.
I think that fans who like the BTD/Paradise/UV/Honeymoon eras the most, should aim to appreciate A&W, because here, Lana explored melancholic and decadent themes again.
Even the second part of the shong (shimmy shimmy kokobop/ Jimmy Jimmy Cocoa Puff) is very Lizzy Grant-sounding!! (which makes me confused about the disliking I see towards it)
The jimmy section definitely is so catchy and always has me shaking my ass but the more I reply it the more I fall in love with the first section of the song. It’s perfect and raw.
loved it. had to listen it a second time to figure everything out and actually flesh out the song because it's fucking unique and chaotic and starts off so raw, then gets angry, and then the transition -- oof 😩❤️❤️❤️
It's a great song and I love the creative direction she seems to be going with on this album.
I really like how she continues to experiment with her style.
This song has confirmed that she's continuing to evolve as an artist and has made me excited to hear more of it!
Removed since there’s already been song discussions in the subreddit
It sounds like two songs to me but it’s still a good one over all :)

It’s fucken great. One of her best in her career. Production is insane and the transition cured my depression.
It’s really good, i wasn’t hot on the last single and it kinda got my hopes down for the album but i love this one 5:49 needs to be injected into me
I think its amazing, however I don't appreciate my feed being over saturated with posts about "is it top 10" or "is it better than ___"
Every fan sub seems to turn into endless grading exercises. Music was never meant to be graded or put into competition.

i expected it to be better from the way it was hyped up tbh

Ok.... Now i get it. 🤯
Tiktok banned in my country ; what does it say?
Epik country, ngl.

Apparently it’s “cocoa puff” confirmed by LDR on TikTok. Either that, or she’s just messing with us.
I'm pretty sure she is just messing with us.
There are multiple threads for this

I fucking love it. I love the dark vibe and unsteady energy and the lyrics cut really deep for me personally. I cannot WAIT for this album!
honestly it revived me
It’s my favorite one of her more recent songs
I looove it. I kinda fell off on Lana after BB ngl. This song brought me back
One of her best songs so far, no doubt.

I absolutely love the first part but the second part not so much. Or rather, I like it fine but would like it more if it was a separate song :)

I love it, but I like the title track better
I’m avoiding it until the album comes out. I haven’t listened to Did you Know either
They’re both great! It’ll be worth the wait in order to listen to them in the context of the whole album.
I’ve listened to both only once. Don’t want to spoil them prior to the full album
I'm also waiting. I don't care for early released singles.
Ill have a better opinion when she makes a music video for Cherry....
Thank you
Justice for cherry
I love it so much!
it’s been stuck in my head since it came out…

sadly not for me, but I do love the title single
Overrated

But I don't care baby I already lost my mind.
ITS FUCKING AMAZING.
Perfect
I LOVE it. It reminds me of when I discovered Lana and what I loved about her sound
I love it so much i cant get it outta my head

One of her best songs ever
Only song I listened to for a few days can’t lie
I love it
It's a masterpiece, a very nice song I enjoyed it and I'm obsessed with it.
Big papa burger fan.
Obsessed with the song
Over hyped tbh
