What a shitshow of a tournament
I was thinking this earlier as well. This has to be the most anti-hype international tournament in the history of lol esports.
Yep. LPL should've just not sent a team to MSI, the ungodly amount of hate outweighs any benefits from potentially winning MSI. Just give the trophy to T1, who gives a shit
Ah yes it's RNG that's getting hate in this thread, not their fans calling the Koreans "dogs" with 20k upvotes
I was gonna agree then looked at bottom of the thread lmao
During last MSI, Damwon were at the top of their group and lost their scheduling advantage, nobody blinked an eye or even apologize to Damwon for the inconvenience. But when the competitive integrity actually gets compromised with RNG having an unfair advantage over other teams (Yes the results won't change but the competitive integrity was already compromised which is the problem) these fans act like babies and children. Holy fuck.
Edit: Guys please send some love and support to T1. Some fans can't act like adults and have resorted to racism against T1 (I don't know why? What did they do?)
Tweet in question: [https://twitter.com/T1LoL/status/1524985289449517056](https://twitter.com/T1LoL/status/1524985289449517056)
Huh? There was a ton of drama around the scheduling and tons of DK fans blamed them losing the tournament on literally nothing but scheduling, as if both of the teams didn't know from the moment either of them won their region that they were 99.9% going to play eachother in the finals.
Although most Chinese are sane, some Chinese LPL fans have persecutory delusions like their government.
They bully others constantly and if anyone said anything back, they play the victim by screaming you racist, you hypocrite, etc.
Look at T1's twitter. What did T1 do to deserve hate from these Chinese fans? They're just playing the game especially under inconvenient circumstances. Yet they want to flame T1 and be racist pricks. Those who take partake in that action are actually embarrassing.
It's part of a larger issue at hand, there's always been bad blood between Koreans and Chinese due to disputes. It's not only in league, but also other sports.
What's more interesting is alll the toxic lpl stans that probably aren't even Chinese. What's their problem with Koreans?
It's not like RNG deserve all the hates however...
guess how much similar comments get upvoted in korea? its mutual hatred. really no point to blame either
I’m confused how this subreddit just forgets LCK fans get insanely toxic too…?
He's a RNG fan, nothing surprising. One of the most hated fanbase in LPL scene.
Is rng most hated by Chinese fans too?
They're the TSM/G2 of lpl. Biggest fanbase is always the most hated.
Not so much. They have a big following due to being a "pure Chinese" team. Chinese fans love it when 5man Chinese win.
Ya that's what I thought
after years and years of korean import players and coaches building it's fundation, surely ironic
Don't shit on his parade of KR hate train. You'll be labelled a sinophobic and a racist by the self-proclaimed "only guy here with a brain".
so ironic every chinese commenter is crying about sinophobia and covid mean while they call korean, dogs LMFAO.
Self moderated dude.
Acting like Korean are not racist toward chinese aswell (or almost everyone tbh)
Point out precisely to me, where in my comment am I "Acting like Korean are not racist toward chinese".
The translation is wrong in the first place. It doesn't translated to "give it to the koreans dogs", but it should be "give it to the koreans". Nice job with the translation there to spread up hate.
Or rng could just play with ping disadvantage. 35 isn't an impossible gap
ya I don't understand why this wasn't an option, give RNG an option, don't play or play from China with minor ping..Jesus fucking Christ riot. you don't give the team that doesn't come an advantage.
The problem is how riot deal with the tournament transparency. People thought LPL request riot to bend the rule for them while the truth is riot beg LPL to join the tournament. And yea, riot probably correct about who would watch a tournament where LPL is not participate and 95% chance SKT win it all, not fun to watch either way.
> riot beg LPL to join the tournament.
I disagree, Riot fucked up big time, but I saw this coming from the very beginning, it first began as people flaming "LPL favoritism" bc VCS couldn't remote play for ICELAND (People don't understand simple geography, education gap I guess)
Then it was the first game controversy, some korean caster/analyst complained that T1 shouldn't play the opening game (which makes no fucking sense), also complained that T1's group stage games are the last days so it was unfair
Then it was "no cam no ref", which has twitch chat nonstop spamming like cancer patients. There was clearly camera in the room, not sure why Korean production couldn't just show it. Referee thing: RNG house in "no travel" zone, riot can't send ref in, so again, not sure what people wnat LPL/RNG to do when its out of their control.
Lastly the ping stuff. The software or whatever was the reason the pings in BUSAN PCs were fucked up. Again people blame RNG, when its out of their control.
Overall this MSI has taught me that people have no brains, or they choose to not use it to justify their hate towards china, no surprise there when western media push sinophobic rhetoric 24/7. RNG 100% should've not participated even if Riot begs them to
"I disagree" *proceed to say why he agrees*
Okay? I agree with ur statement but ur statement do not conflict with mine, I do agree this is riot fault, I said that RNG get the hate because of riot action
>bc VCS couldn't remote play for ICELAND (People don't understand simple geography, education gap I guess)
No lol VCS couldn't play in Iceland because they were on full lockdown, they literally didn't even have a summer split, not even online. People said VCS could've played in 2020 when worlds was in China. Ping from Vietnam to China isn't that high and they could've done something similar to the tournament now like artificial ping. Big difference.
Anyone with a map could tell the physical distance between vietnam and shanghai is about 2x of distance from shanghai to busan. But from these lck flairs comments during the last 2 weeks it seems like most lck fans dont own maps.
Here we go, ladies and gentleman, this man is the only one who has a brain.
i agree with everything except the ref and cam argument. they couldve simply said from the beginning that RNG is beeing monitored (video and audio) all the time and explain restrictions, not everybody knows about the overall situation in shanghai
yes this might be something obvious for anybody with an IQ of 5 but just a simple statement/explanation beforehand can help stop a lot of hate reactions
> LPL should've just not sent a team to MSI
It’s funny how they somehow managed to piss off everybody (except maybe masochist minor region fans who enjoy watching their teams get stomped) with the string of decisions made throughout the tournament
Edit: [Jesus, the conversation around this tourney is so vitriolic that someone made a fake Ashley Kant impersonation account in an attempt to get Chinese fans to hate her](https://twitter.com/ashleykang/status/1525057130943762433?s=21&t=_o0Lw9NVEOL58hp3ijbC8g).
I'm not pissed off, I'm getting drops. I'm getting memes. I don't care who wins. I see this as an absolute win.
Drops? Do you get hextech chests or something? Like CSGO major case drops? I usually watch vods on YT, just curious.
Googled it and apparently I have to watch through lolesports.com. Still no idea what drops actually are though.
it's icon and emotes, but after some drops you just get duplicates so you get tons of orange essences, free skins
You can get some very minor rewards like summoner icons from drops. Its a nice bonus if youre watching the games anyway but nothing worth going out of your way for
i've been watching all games on [lolesports.com](https://lolesports.com) for a few years and the amount of icons and emotes I've gained is ridiculous
it may not look much, but when stacking it all together, it surely gave me a few skins for free
For me it's worth because I get enough orange essence between MSI and Worlds to claim every skin shard I come across
> masochist minor region fans
idk why I found this so funny
You really didn’t have to call us masochists out like that….
Tbf, watching minor regions getting absolutely bullied and murdered by T1, RNG, G2 is fun. We can all laugh at how bad our teams are compared to them without getting salty like everyone with the current situation, cause we never have any expectations to begin with, just being able to join in the fun is good enough on its own.
It's true that the format suck, if lpl team is not coming, I highly doubt that any team would stand a chance against the SKT. Might as well give Korean the title or cancel the tournament. Moreover, people gonna complain about everything either way.
To be fair MSI is a bad tournament. Only 3 good teams. Worlds is 100x more entertaining. In fact they should probably arrange another tournament with top top 3 teams from major regions only. We get to see minor teams at Worlds anyways
I mean at that point you might as well change MSI to just an exhibition match between LPL and LCK because nobody else has a chance at winning.
They want other regions, including China, to compete because it gives Riot more publicity. China is a massive market so they want them to be in the tournament, some of the minor regions have insane followings, especially the Spanish speaking ones. In the end minor regions are good to have because it gives Riot reach into the region in which League and overall RIot games are less popular.
Every tournament Riot hosts is just a massive marketing campaign. Its not about competitive integrity or national pride or whatever, its all about Riot making one massive ad for their game and studio. Thats why they want everyone to attend.
How is it Riot’s fault that no other region can challenge LCK and LPL? What are they supposed to do?
Removing all tournaments that had interregional games just to force regional leagues is directly responsible for that. If you want to be the best, you have to practice with the best, and that is only possible twice a year for one team per region and once for 3 others. Open circuit was better than what we have now.
I never said it was. All i said is that Riot wants to host these tournaments with all regions, be they minor or major, because it gives them more publicity.
If it was about competition it would be just Korea vs China. But its not about the competition, its about advertisement.
WTF is going on with T1's twitter. WTF did T1 do to these Chinese fans or the outcome of this tournament? Actually embarrassing of Chinese fans
Just everyday east asian nationalism stuffs.
They're aware that China won worlds 3 times and for 2 of these times, they used the highest amount of Korean players that they could possibly use as per the rules.
Inferiority complex. Korea did nothing related to the current RNG issues at MSI.
Edit: apparently all 3 times they had 2 Koreans lol
All 3 times?
IG: TheShy and Rookie
FPX: Gimgoon and Doinb
EDG: Scout and Viper
Also we should add that in 2 of those teams koreans were the main reason they could win imo.
Theshy and rookie in IG and ofc doinb in FPX were hard carries those seasons.
Scout and Viper is also good but i dont think they were the smurfs in the edg if you ask me.
Wasn't viper considered the mvp for that edg?
I think its unfair to call doinb the hard carry. The entirety of FPX was insane at the time especially tian and crisp were far ahead of their competition and were solo winning matches. IG i agree with it was basically a sololane show from rookie & theshy.
I agree and explained it in another reply. I meant that he was the face of that team. More popular imo especially with his Ryze becoming memes and stuff.
That FPX roster was unbelievable good in every role. I think individually, that split is still the peak of all that roster overall in their career. Especially Tian sadly.
Not only that, the Koreans were the some of the best players most of those times as well. 2018 run? TheShy and Rookie show. 2019? Doinb unique champion pool gap (Tian and Crisp were also very good to be fair). 2021? Viper gap with Scout being incredibly consistent (tho JieJie had a very good finals). Point being LPL success at worlds has been hugely aided by amazing Korean players and yet many LPL fans are incredibly racist towards Koreans. The irony is incredible.
It's not Chinese fans ita Chinese culture. They all hate each other
LMAO the discrepency between how LPL sees this and how everyone else sees this tournament.
Yea the Chinese Internet wall is actually protecting us from these trolls lmao
I know you're probably trolling but this is the actual consensus from *enlightened* Chinese who have hopped the wall.
No I’m serious. Chinese netizens way outnumber netizens from other countries, it’s not even close
Yea India is close
Imagine Chinese teaming up with India on the internet
Surely not protecting us from chinese bots. Just look at the accounts defending RNG many of them were made today. And every posts that puts the blame on lpl and not Riot gets downvoted to oblivion.
Dude you have no idea how bad they are or how many they are.
A lot of LPL fans in here saying "please don't translate 棒子 it's not THAT racist and people are gonna take it out of context" is some hilarious mental gymnastics to try and say it's not xenophobic (hint: it is) or that RNG wasn't already catered to a mindbogglingly high degree (no cams, no refs, everyone else gets higher ping to match, playing in their own studio/house).
Weibo's comments are much spicier than Hupu. For the first comment, "棒子” has nothing to do with KR dogs.
KR corn sticks actually. The stereotype comes from common Chinese view that people of Goryeo farm corn and nothing but corn, so they are malnorished and look like corn sticks.
East asian slurs are so multilayered.
So, still xenophobic just different
It's similar to brits calling germans Krautz. Because they think they all eat that sour tasting and smelling vegetable.
Bangzi was referring to Koreans who fought for Japanese invaders in Manchuria. They didn't have firarms but sticks so they got called with that
it's kinda like N word to KR people
Translating "棒子" to "Korean dogs" really is not appropriate here.
Yeah it’s more of a racial slur like C word and J word for Chinese/Japanese
okay I officially can not keep up with the letter-words, good job humanity
It's a slur used to refer Koreans, I don't think "Korean dogs" is a fair translation, just like how people wouldn't translate "Ya\*kees" or"Chi\*ks" into american dogs or asian dogs right?
If you really wanna dig deeper, the origin of 棒子 is actually an ancient Korean word 帮子(Bangza), which refers to servants, slaves and concubines.
Edit: Someone in the comments pointed out it was actually 房子(Bangja) in Korean. Credit to u/Square-Ask-6492
You can say “Yankee,” lmao
Oh cheers man, just trying to not get cancelled.
tbh getting cancelled by Redditors is hardly the worst thing. They can’t do much.
But yeah, yankee is definitely not on the same level as other ethnic slurs. It’s also one I have almost never seen used outside of WWII contexts, and I’m as yankee as it gets.
You see it used plenty in baseball, just not as a slur (unless you're a Red Sox fan)
korean word Bangja means servants of government. and it is 房子.
Well thx for the correction, but yeah that's basically where the slur 棒子 came from.
Then what do you suggest? "Sticks (a Chinese slur for Korean people)"?
Just write "BangZi" and post a wiki link. People get used to it.
Just don't translate it and leave an explanation about the background and meaning of these insults.
Not everything can be translated word for word into other languages, especially meme / insults / slang / idioms, etc.
Well technically you may but the meaning and context is lost in the process.
Considering some LPL fans are posting "kr dogs" all over Twitter it seems like an appropriate translation.
that means Korean should be beaten by club.
way more worse than Korean dog
You are making things up lmao
I'm not. Why you guys keep trying to make Bangzi was from Bangja? There is no negative meaning in Korean word Bangja, 100% different from a slave.
>There is no negative meaning in Korean word Bangja, 100% different from a slave.
This is silly. Negro has no negative meaning in Spanish as well but the N-word in English is considered a racial slur. The word itself could be neutral in one language and insulting in specific background and context. This is not contradictory, both meanings can be true.
Likewise the Swastika symbol was not a fascist symbol but the association with Nazi Germany made it one.
But You don't say negro comes from Spanish so it's not racist. Here, people are defending the usage of word Bangzi because it originates from Korean.
Remember the romanian referee who got fucked just because saying negro in a game lol.
He should be careful tho but as a spanish speaker from my natives, i also experienced the same shit when i accidently say negro instead of black which is my fucking native language :/
It says beating a child with a club if im not mistaken.
So something akin to spoiled brats or a cur needing discipline.
Yea, it translates to something even worse to Korean dogs. Disgusting toxic RNG fans.
Emm...I'm not RNG fan tbh and u seem really have some misunderstanding about the slur. Get used to it though, KR netizens are as radical as CN netizens.
jfc t1 vs rng is gonna be the start of ww3 at this rate
OP you should translate some from NGA. I've seen some real spicy ones, calling the stadium Busan morgue lol.
Considering the crowd reaction after Gala's pental kills, I think morgue is an accurate description of Busan stadium.
To be fair, these comments are cherry picked and most comments I've seen are quite ok with having another 3 stomps by rng. Some comments called for the matches to be done with the same draft to avoid rng having to expose any of their strats, which makes sense imo.
These comments were ranked by the number of likes they received at the time I screenshot the comment section. I didnt "pick" comments.
At least retrieve comments from Bilibili which is an actual official tournemtn watching platform.
People there are more rational and more important, funny.
> RNG was more than happy to play on 35 ping while everyone else was LAN
I've seen people say this and I think its possible, but what's the source? I assume RNG has decided to stay silent and just comply with Riot decision, but did a reputable individual(s) in the CN league scene leak this?
Source or bullshyt.
RNG aren't helping themselves with tweets like [this](https://twitter.com/RNG/status/1525038118507794432)
I understand the complaints, but why make them public on social medias, no one outside of China will feel sorry for the team that's playing from home and is the reason for the ping everyone is playing on, even if it was Riot's decision.
The only reason teams are on Twitter is PR, and this is not good PR.
Btw RNG never said they are quitting, it’s Chinese fans imagination to think they’re important
if rng or LPL didnt whine about the ping difference, the msi would have been played with 0 ping by the other teams and 35 by RNG but LPL used it as an excuse to try to not attend to MSI so riot made it all teams to play at the so called 35ping, so stop your bullshit with rng was more than happy to play on 35ping while everyone else was on LAN setting.
What's the background
Sorry, im out of the loop, why RNG didnt want to participate? Why they are playing from china?
LPL Schedule and Asia Games schedule wouldn't allow them to travel to MSI and back without needing to quarantine for 14 days and risk missing LPL scheduled games and practice for the Asia Games, so RNG didn't want to participate since Asia Games is most important. Riot wanted them at MSI and enabled RNG to play remotely from China on 35 ping and all other teams would have to play on 35 ping so that they're not having to adjust from going from LAN ping to 35. Riot messed up the ping for teams that aren't RNG, where it's actually higher, and so RNG are being forced to replay the games they had ping advantage.
China was (still is?) under heavy lockdown, people couldnt leave their houses at all. So they couldnt travel to busan
Shanghai is in heave lockdown but in other cities of China, things are kinda okay.
Ah yes it was just shanghai mb
Shouldve just let RNG not participate. So ungrateful even though they got Riot to pander to their every whim.
Lol riot stands to lose more than RNG ever would if RNG didn’t participate. Meaningless tournament with a meaningless trophy.
To be fair they're only playing against Wildcards. Are they forgetting last year's MSI finals against DK with more time to practice? Sucks for everyone though but I find last year a bit worse.
imagine if Riot is actually a competent tournament organizer... even with how incompetent they are, League is still the most popular esports in the world and Valorant is growing very rapidly too. But imagine if Riot actually has good scheduling for their tournaments, or better formats, or less production fuck ups...
not sure if sad or impressive.
In terms of making the games themselves, sure. no denying that. But when it comes to actually running the tournaments... idk
You're right. Format wise, I do think Dota majors are much better, but then they have the benefits of more competitive regions. (All regions are nearly equal).
But then Valve gives fuck all about income stability for their orgs and players. Literally gives dozens of millions away to the TI winners and peanuts all year round. No org would ever earn a single dollar from the competition alone, instead they have to beg around for short-term loans and sponsorships.
SC2 and SC1 are both miles ahead. The quality of tournaments in League as well as the formats used aren't on par with what SC2 was even 10 years ago.
Even Age of Empires 2 DE which is basically community driven has better formats and are more fun to watch.
This MSI has the most dogshit format in context of the teams participating I have ever seen and together with the rest of the drama that Riot managed to concoct this year I don't think I've ever seen a worse managed high profile esports tournament. You literally have to try to be as shit as how shit this MSI is. I've never seen anything like this since the days of lan tournaments, but at least then we had excuses for things being shit, Riot has none for the state of League eSports.
Pretty much any fighting game tournament is better run than anything that Riot has been running since season 2.
Agree this could be improved massively. I think on this one though a lot of the issues come from the Asia games effectively forcing lpl to play remote or not attend.
Obviously there's a myriad of ways Riot could make this tournament more interesting. I'd like to see a big change to the first stage. There's no reason to have the top 3/4 regions in groups with the minor regions here. It would be much more interesting to let the minors duke it out for a chance to progress onto the next stage like worlds, but without the bottom seeds smashing everyone from major regions.
This would then create the interest and opportunity for minor regions to face each other and help drive international rivalry between them.
Yeah, I get the had to do something but what about the disadvantage RNG has by playing more games & potentially showing more video for T1 to review prior to their games. The real issue is this format is terrible. I have no idea why they refuse to also invite 2 seeds from LPL, LCK, EU, and NA (treat them as a wildcard). No one wants to watch these boring matches of wildcards + NA getting pubstomped by LCK, EU, & LPL. Open up the tourney to more major region teams & make it a real international competition.
MSI is an overrated joke tournament having only 3 competitive teams while the rest of them are just fillers.
Some of the best moments in League esports have come from MSI, this year may be different but calling it a 'joke tournament' is a big cope if I've ever seen one.
Rumble has not started this year but I can comfortably tell you this year's the worst one yet. I can't bear to watch EG and G2 take turns to shit on Order 8 times on the international stage.
It is a joke tournament though? Having 3 competitive teams perma stomping minor regions and the winner of the tournament not actually mattering is a bit of a joke.
Best moments by Riot standards.
Most of those were just upsets or shitshows in some way.
You can tell this fandom isnt used to good competition when they pretend like MSI has a "legacy" now, you people need to watch some CSGO majors or smth.
Exactly, if you're always fed shit by Riot, you'll thoroughly enjoy it when they ate corn the day before. You're still eating shit tho. The tournament format, just like worlds, is horrendous..
SURE. Like G2 vs SKT semifinal was not hype or TL vs IG (reigning world champs). Bad take mate
> SURE. Like G2 vs SKT semifinal was not hype or TL vs IG (reigning world champs)
Have you noticed these games had no minor region teams? Ofc these semis where hype, MSI is just waiting 2 weeks for semi finals to start. That's when actual BO5s start. And we get only 3 BO5s.
I think LEC is competitive too so I would say 4 competitive teams. I agree with the rest though of course.
No one tell him.
I am pretty sure that he meant the 3 competitive teams are EU/LPL/LCK
NA stands no chance when it comes to the big stages
I'm no NA fan, but to give them credit they did beat IG and get to the finals.
Have no idea what happened, can someone please be kind to explain?😂
Riot discovered, thanks to feedback from some pros, that while RNG was playing on stable 35ms ping, all the other teams were playing with unstable ping and packet loss, at an unfair disadvantage. So Riot decided to remake RNG's matches, so they went from being 3-0 to being 0-0, and those 3 games have to be played again tomorrow after G2's group is donie.
Chinese fans are now blaming Riot for being biased against RNG (?) instead of appreciating that the whole damn tournament was accommodated to RNG being able to participate and to the fact that China has a shit government.
This is a fair reaction tbh. The ping problems clearly haven't won them any games
It's not about the win, it's about the competitive integrity being compromised.
RNG fans should be thankful Riot is even letting them play
The chinese audacity LUL
They got all the favoritism and still bitch around like THEY are the victim here.
What a bunch of babies
LPL shouldnt be participating in this tournament and yet they are asking and complaining abou an specific ruleset made for them to participite remotely, this must be a fucking bad joke or something
They were forced/begged to participate by riot. They initially didn't want to come.
The first comment is not translated to "kr dogs," its a slur that more or less mean "stick/club"
"with a long history of being used as a deprecatory ethnic slur for Koreans "
I think dogs is an appropriate translation then
Yeah if anything 'dogs' isnt nearly strong enough.
yea this guy is just being a bad actor (what a surprise). if anything the 'dog' translation is a lot 'lighter' of a word than what is really being said.
>Gaoli bangzi (Chinese: 高麗棒子; pinyin: gāolí bàngzi) is a Chinese slang term, with a long history of being used as a deprecatory ethnic slur for Koreans. The term gaoli (高麗) refers to the ancient Korean dynasty Goryeo, while bangzi (棒子) means club. It is used synonymously with Er Guizi (二鬼子) and is sometimes shortened to han bangzi (韓棒子) or simply bangzi (棒子).

You do realise that's much worse right?
Considering the amount of times the Chinese fans have posted krdogs replying to T1 tweets I’m gonna go ahead and say it’s a fine translation
lmao please don't try to defend slurs, especially when its stated outright in the wiki
but didnt they just say its a slur? if anything theyre helping by pointing that out since some people might think the korean dog translation is less severe due to cultural differences
You cant literally translate slurs, so giving a well-known relative equivalent is the best thing you can do.
No one gives a shit if i say "He called him [INSULT]"
If you read what the guy posted below you'll see his true color. Dude is literally pulling the "The Korean are being racist towards us" card.
im not saying the guy is a good person, just giving my two cents on something they said
also just curious has ur username ever worked
Seems both fanbases are being quite racist. Or xenophobic is a better word, because this isn't about race
I don't think anyone here is trying to. Just using the correct translation.
The guy is a clown. He wrote a big comment detailing how only he has a brain, and nobody else does, he really believes he's special, who else do we know of the same syndrome? NamikazeEU? The dude was also one of the first proponent of RNG is getting attacked when people were shitting on Riots incompetency. Thanks to this guy and similar fellows, RNG was brought into the conversation as well.
I'm not defending slurs? Just correcting a translational mistake
And do you really want to talk about racism? Want me to pull up what korean forums are saying about chinese? Don't try to act all high and mighty
Why are fans of each team even mad at each other? Literally every fuck up has been Riot's fault.
Riot just gave them the excuse to talk shit to each other. Haters are just being haters.
Wow im glad ur defense is "koreans are racist too" truly an impenetrable defense
I wrote a lot deleted it cause I realized it was pointless
So you are that kind of smartass that goes "It's not a homophobic slur. It just means a bundle of sticks". Yeah, a slur is a slur. Deal with it.
but they said it's a slur?
Really showing your true colors here. Sad.
A slur is a slur lmfao. You're clearly trying to stir shit in the other direction.
While you're at it, you can pull up T1's weibo and twitter as well as Faker's and read through all the racist shit that are being bombarded by Chinese netizens right now. Don't pretend like it's a one-sided affair.
>Just correcting a translational mistake
No, you're doing the opposite.
His translation is 100% accurate to what the word **actually means**. Translating it as stick/club is a literal translation devoid of any meaning.
That's literally how good translating is done - avoiding literal translations and translating by meaning appropriate for the culture and context of the target language.
if they corrected it as stick and didnt add that its a slur, your comment would be correct, but they did, so i dont think the severity of the comment is being downplayed much. obviously korean dog has more or less the same effect, but some people might not think its as severe due to cultural differences with calling someone a dog
dont fucking matter what koreans or anyone is saying, dont be racist back to them, simple as. -
Yeah yeah. And the N word is just a latin for “black” right?
