I had only played ME2 before, way back when it came out originally, but I had an idea of the plots of the others. ME2 has always been a favorite of mine and wanted to play them all. As deep as the story of the trilogy is, I like that it doesn't box you into a certain playstyle but also dislike that the personality change isn't addressed as much in the game besides having paragon and renegade choices. So that's my short backstory of how I progressed him.
Isn’t it explained by Dr.Chakwas? Im pretty sure in the 2nd game she says that if Shepard experiences too much stress his wounds will become unstable. Overall his scars get bigger and brighter in the renegade path.
Yeah Chakwas does explain it, but doesn't mention eyes. My first time playing 3, so I don't know if it's supposed to be like that. It gradually got brighter and brighter the more renegade I went though, so I'm guessing so. I don't remember seeing any coloration of the eyes in ME2 though.
As you go deeper in Renegade morality your scars start to degrade showing the cybernetics inside, so if you're single-mindedly renegade the eye implants start showing as well. 80% or more renegade I think.
Hot damn! I believe being in a quasi-lockdown, here in China, gave me the benefit of being able to play through a bit more efficiently with nothing else to distract from the playthrough. I started on the 5th of May and finished on the 14th.
I like to think that after >!Bring Down the Sky, killing 300,000 Batarians!< was the real turning point for Shepard. I saved it for a bit closer to the end of the playthrough, for that reason. It's really the line where he went from "I'll go pretty far to stop this war." to "I'll do whatever it takes and make those hard calculations of killing 10 billion here to save 20 billion there.".
Honestly, I'm not sure. Lol. I got a majority of the trophies for ME1 as well, just missed the ones for using most powers and collecting the little relics/tags/etc..from the planets.
I considered this path, but in my mind Shepard isn't driven by a desire to control the Reapers. He has one goal and that's to stop the war and he's willing to go to any lengths to do this. So by merging with the crucible it, not only, ends the war but also guarantees harmony for the galaxy. To me, Renegade Shepard is driven by his desire to save the galaxy at any cost, not the desire to enslave it.
Ooh, that’s a really cool and creative character evolution. It’s interesting to consider how Shepard’s outlook might change as the series progresses.

ME2 first brigade here, ready for action.
Mine had also grown more renegade over the trilogy, just not to that level
Was trying to take it to near TIM levels without losing his mind.
Wait, did his eyes really turn red because of the Renegade choices? I didn’t know it.
Perhaps he had ocular implants during the Lazerus Project, but yeah they turn red when you go renegade.
Ha, nice. I’ve always done Paragon runs, so I was not aware of it.

I knew about the scars getting worse by following a Renegade path, but I did not know it could affect the eyes as well.

That is cool, ngl.
Terminator Shepard, revealing all the cybernetics under the surface.
Scars too. They directly tell you this in ME2.
It's much, much cooler in ME2.
Meanwhile it took me 180 hours to finish lmao

Well I think it also counted hours while I was asleep with the game running lmao
Last night my shepard had the bright red sithlord eyes
Yeah once you taste batarian blood you never go back.

How did you beat the first game in 20 hours? Holy crap, it almost always takes me over 30!

True Renegade ending is Control imo. Renegade Shep's end slide narration fits the character so well.

Sheploo is the best
