Zatnikotel

Lich_dick

Holy shit, are you santa?

Zatnikotel

Probably put weight on sat doing this ;)

Phobos501

As someone that loves role playing but lives in a fourth or fifth world country, this is awesome. Thank you so much!

Zatnikotel

An absolute pleasure :)

AztraChaitali

damn... what's fifth world? I thought that was a meme

Phobos501

No running water (need a water tank), constant power outages, 2$ monthly wages (for most people), lack of food, clothing, amongst other things. Also terrible internet.

mycathateme

I know I take alot of shit for granted so I find your optimism both off-putting and inspiring. May your campaigns be long and glorious.

Phobos501

I've learned to find happiness in the small things, like role playing (and good maps cost $ which I don't have access to), because most things are really effed up.

Zatnikotel

I am very, very happy that you found my stuff!

AddMoreAbstraction

1st / 2nd / 3rd world referred to the Cold War blocs of NATO / Soviets / unaligned. 3rd world has come to mean 'developing countries,' but by its original definition Sweden and Ireland would be considered 3rd world. From that perspective, 5th world doesn't mean anything. But \*shrug\*, language shifts, and it's clear what they intended by it.

F4RM3RR

There’s not such thing, it’s just hyperbole - 3rd world is bottom rung on the ladder. But these terms are out dated and not really used anymore

UnfortunatelyEvil

And using the outdated definitions means it is totally possible for 3rd world and 2nd world nations to be richer and more developed than 1st world nations.

F4RM3RR

... no, it doesn’t. Because that would be the opposite of what it means Edit: I was incredibly wrong, see below

UnfortunatelyEvil

? 1st world is Nato, 2nd world is Soviet, and 3rd world are those outside of the cold war participants. There is nothing inherently "better" about 1st world over 3rd world, regardless of the propaganda at the time.

F4RM3RR

Yup, I was incorrect. By a lot.

CrimsonKrakenCakes

Roughly 23 acres! Well done

> Some people have been asking if there is an easier way to download these sets... Have you considered sharing via IPFS? It's a torrent-like system where files you host can get shared around to other nodes in the system, who can then help you host. It has the benefit over a torrent in that as you're modifying contents, people who have downloaded previous versions only download the difference between them, rather than needing to re-sync/-download everything. There's services like https://pinata.cloud that run an IPFS node for you (if you want to try it out, though paying for it would put you right back in the same situation as with Drive), or you can install and run your own node for free.

Zatnikotel

I have not, and feel a little embarrassed (given my day job) in not hearing about these things before. I'll take a look. (Do they allow me to collect analytics data?)

MidnightLightning

IPFS was born mainly from the cryptocurrency community and most of it's use cases currently run parallel to the Ethereum ecosystem, so if you weren't already involved in the cryptocurrency space, it's definitely understandable if you haven't heard of it yet, but the use cases for IPFS definitely extend beyond the crypto sphere. Analytics on IPFS is more similar to tracking popularity of a given torrent file; you could find out roughly how many "seeders" it has, but since your node doesn't connect directly to ALL other nodes, it would be an estimate, rather than a firm "download count" sort of metric. What specific types of analytics are you wanting to gather?

shhnotatwink

Hey. Thank you homie.

Fat_Taiko

!remindme 1 day

Cooperthebarrelman

Thank you kind person, really hope your ok

Zatnikotel

Honestly, the response to this set has me 'walking on clouds', depsite all the mess the world (and RL work) is in at the moment. Thank you :)

lilchar_char

What a legend

Zatnikotel

Thank you. Leaveing a mark on our communioity just like I always dreamt about as a kid (almost 40 yeasr ago).

StarkMaximum

Zatnikotel coming in ONCE AGAIN saving the RPG community with the relentless generosity. You are always welcome and appreciated <3 I made a Ko-Fi account just to support you.

Zatnikotel

Thank you, I often get questions re why not a Patreon, like eveyone else, and it seems to put some people off when they need to create a Ko-Fi account. Very much appreciated.

Jam-Beat

This looks so awesome! Is there any sort of unified image showering the entire forest? EDIT: also, dope Stargate name! I started jotting ideas for a campaign based in that lore just today!

Zatnikotel

"*Indeed*" ;) There is one on the dA site (it's right down at the bottom of the Fortest gallery). There's also one in the zip folder (for those who have donated). BTW, there is a ~~Stargate~~ Spacedoor in each of the One Million sets, just in case... you know ;)

GoblinLoveChild

these are really good thanks

Zatnikotel

A pleasure :)

baddoge9000

Amazing, thanks bro!

Zatnikotel

No problem :)

A1Qicks

This is amazing! What do you use to create your maps? Is it manually illustrated or do you use a tool?

Zatnikotel

Everything is done in Photoshop, from the inital plans, setting up templates, creating assets, putting it all together and then finishing effects. I make lots of use of photographs that I take with my smart phone camera.

A1Qicks

That's incredible! It must take you forever.

Zatnikotel

Yes it does, however it's a great way for me to 'cut off from the world' and focus on something I enjoy. A fanatstic way to relieve stress :)

DaveThaumavore

This is dope AF. Have a Silver.

Zatnikotel

Thank you!

AztraChaitali

Does the ko-fi version have an hexagonal grid?

Zatnikotel

It does not. I find that most VTT have them built in and people tend to use the 'no grid' versions. Is it something I need to be aware of int he future?

AztraChaitali

I only play with hex grid, but I've only bought maps from acquaintances which know that, so I don't know if it's common practice or not. I also don't really know how to use VTTs too well.

Zatnikotel

VTT = Virtual TableTop, e.g., Roll20 They have hex grid functionality built in.
