Pattern: [Folkwear](https:// www.folkwear.com/products/204-missouri-river-boatmans-shirt) Missiouri River Boatman’s Shirt, 204
Modifications/options: I made the XL men’s, double cuff, modified ties for elongation, and lengthened by simply using the whole length of the table cloth. I did use interfacing as optional in the pattern on collar and cuff.
Fabric: Cotton tablecloth from estate sale
Buttons & buttonholes on cuffs TBD
Thank you!! I am quite proud - I learned a lot of new things with this make. Yoke, gusset, self tie, side slit reinforcements, collar & cuff were all new!
This is a fine shirt indeed! I really love how the fabric really goes perfectly with the pattern. I hope it is super comfy.
I have only used the Rosie the Riveter pattern from Folkwear, but I look forward to making more of them soon.
I think mrb shirt is the only one I've made more than once and I've made it several times. I've made the kinsale cloak for myself and loved it! Made Rosie the riveter overalls for my daughter but she hated the fabric so only wore them a few times. I've also made her the Monte Carlo dress, which could have used more tweaking. Made the swing coat which turned out enormous so I sold it. My next projects are the dirndl and the victorian walking skirt.

Nice!!
I bought a couple of round tablecloths to turn into circle skirts.
This is another idea that I'll share with a friend of mine. He's looking for something similar. He doesn't sew, but his wife does, quite well.
Thanks for sharing.

I just spent way too long browsing the Folkwear website!!
I did too! I hollered at my husband to go look at the website and now scheming has begun.
So many rad patterns there. I’ve also made the fisherman pants (sewed up quick) and am currently making the Turkish dancer vest 😍
😜
It looks like your link is broken. [Hopefully this link works.](https://www.folkwear.com/products/204-missouri-river-boatmans-shirt)

This is a perfect composition of fabric and garment designs!!

It is so comfy. Ty for the fabric compliment - it felt just right!
Love it! Very chill
😄
That looks great, the stripes are so even!
TY!! Was intimidated but seems aight
That's great! It's my most-used of all of the folkwear patterns.
Oooo! What’s your second most used? I’m diving into my stash and struggling to prioritize!

Ooo thanks for the reccs. I’ve been eyeing that Kinsale cloak! Thanks for the nudge
i love reclaimed fabric, my favorite things were made with old curtains and bed sheets
Bought a twin sheet yesterday for this explicit purpose :)
Great success! ☺️
I particularly like the sleeves as well as the fabric. It's hard to find sleeves that are a decent length and not a bit on the short side.
There is also a gusset in the armpit! So comfy.
Hey, that turned out great! You look really sharp.
🥰
Nice!
Ty! 💪🏻
It looks great, good job!
💕
Looks great! I love sewing with tablecloths, they are a great source of heavier cotton fabrics in interesting weaves and patterns.
Agreed! I’ve started stalking the linens at thrift & estate sales because they have such lovely weight. I’m so over quilting cottons.
Super awesome final garment!
Great fabric find- really need to keep my eyes out for tablecloth's! Nice work!

Folkwear has lots of good options along the square tunic but better line!
Cool!! I'll let her know on Monday when we get together for coffee. 🙂
Is that the Moroccan djelaba?
No, it’s the Missouri river boatman’s shirt. I might make that one too though!
I have that pattern. Great for when my friend was a blacksmith at the Ren fairs.
Hey Nani Nani!
