It's not a cult because anyone can walk in freely and probably enjoy themselves. The problem is the hidden secret shit that only members of the community are in on. It's not like they are gathering in a circle chatting for death and suffering. It's not up to members of the spiritual group to decide if other people think they are strange or sinister. And note; it doesn't have to be sinister! Not saying the people don't have good intentions; the road to hell is paved with great intentions. If someone has good intentions for a utopian style goal; they will often eventually "crack a few eggs" to make that omelet, and of course covering up violence within the group is just cracking an egg for that ultimate goal that they have no plan for.
Better luck with the next leg of the journey, hopefully it's more peaceful and hopefully those who did cause problems, and the leaders there get their shit together before someone gets hurt or worse.

What did you do? Plenty of folks will fly off the handle for no reason, but it doesn't seem like that's what happened, it seems like whatever you did, he just reacted more than you thought he would.

No one touched anyone besides him attacking me. It specifically happened when my female roommate that he has a relationship with grabbed my walking stick and started to wave it around me. I attempted to get my stick back and was unsuccessful at that. But once she sat down because the energy was was to much I got my stick back and called her crazy and told her she lost her mind. After that the man who was hanging out with me and my two roommates got up and got defensive with me and by then he was not backing down and I wasn't even trying to conflict with him so he came after me and I hugged him and told him that he shouldn't get involved because me and my two roommates have been processing everything and I've been resisting violence and fighting amongst the members. After I hugged him he continued to get violent and took my stick attempting to hurt me and he successfully hit my heel with the stick and I ran away to safety and got elder members of the community. They thought the problem was solved and they knew what was happening and how to move past it. So I grabbed food and lollipops and went with a friend to bring them to the members at the center of the community and as I was standing with them he attempted to threaten violence again. He chased me around the center of the community screaming and cursing me and then I made it back to the elders and the women and got behind someone and the women started to calm down the man that was after me. The "queen" of the community picked up her phone trying to blast me on her Facebook but I simply stated I don't know anything. Yes we fought amongst ourselves in our private camp but it shouldn't have came to violence. It all happened within the first hour of the morning so it was intense to handle. Prior instances when I was first visiting this community, he cracked his knuckles at me months ago and then a couple nights ago when he was drinking sangria and mead, he looked at me and viciously told me to "run, run , run" and then proceeded to jump at me but didn't touch me instead started laughing maniacally. So from the beginning I believe he had this violent energy towards me and today he made sure he dealt with it in his own way. I'm not sure if this is good because this past week has been beautiful in the community and I wanted to stay for a little while. Currently fighting staff infection on my feet and legs so I was just trying to heal I was very close now I'm back on the streets. Don't really want to do th community thing anymore. Just trying to get back to the mainland

I can see that. He surely has been working on a relationship with my roommate and he feels the need to defend mine and her conflicts. Me and her were actively working on a relationship with each other since the beginning but it turns out that he got in the middle with a lack of understanding. Yeah people can be hurt or injured or killed but only in the most extreme circumstances. enough eyes are on that place since it's well known through the island. They have no law besides what they decide out of free will. But if bad things happen there the cops were there two days ago but I don't know why

I’ve been to utopian eco villages with supposed “transcendental” beings. I could never figure out why nobody ever does the dishes. The ones who do the dishes seem to get wise and leave everybody else to their own destructive tendencies.
